Merry Christmas to those on this forum who do not present themselves with know it all attitudes and who do not sully the overall enjoyment of its use by those of us who do have our opinions and do not wish to have them made to seem unworthy. That just about boils down to “Merry Christmas, Fred and Dirty Dan”!

And a very Merry Christmas to you Ms. Twitt! I hope Santa brings you everything you wish for.
Merry Christmas to you too, BoogDoc. A Southern Baptist upbringing ...Isn’t that right? But, you have gone astray. I’m curious, to what faith did you turn?

I’m more or less what you can call “reformed Baptist” - my basic theology is still Southern Baptist, but a bit more of a Calvinist bent. Think John Piper, but not as smart. I currently attend a Presbyterian Church (the conservative PCA kind, not the liberal PC-USA), because it’s a good place to worship, fellowship, and work and they have the right focus. I still hold to believer’s Baptism, though.

Ah Southern Baptists… When it comes to being a Christ-like example of tolerance and good will, are there any better folk?
Best wishes for you and yours, Twitt and Merry Christmas to all

Well, it depends on what you mean by “tolerance.” Jesus had little patience with religious elites who lived by a set of rules and held anyone down who didn’t hold to them. He spent more time with “sinners,” because he actually was LESS tolerant of their sin, and knew they needed a savior!
Don’t misinterpret tolerance to mean condoning, excusing, or accepting. Many Christians AND non-Christians do the same. Christ was born to bring men to the feet of the Father to glorify Him.
