I don’t really have a screen-saver, only a desktop background. No one seems to understand what I mean. Nothing on the Politics site goes away. I stay ON the site but after I’m finished with the post, if it takes--say 15 minutes, I hit “submit” and instead of posting, the thing comes up as if I’d never typed anything. I’d have to start all over. What I’d like to know is- do we have a limited time to type what we want to post and if it takes longer our post just won’t “take”? There’s no clue that what I’m typing isn’t going to appear on the forum but if it takes a few minutes I can forget it.
I know exactly what you’re talking about. While I’m writing a post, somebody calls. I answer the phone, talk for a while, and go back to the post. Then when I submit, it’s gone and I have to start over. The site seems to “erase” our typing after five or ten minutes if we don’t hit something like “preview post” or “check spelling” to let it know we’re still here. My solution, when I know it’s been five or ten minutes since I started writing in the “post a new reply” box, is to highlight the entire post and copy it before hitting “submit.” If it does disappear, I can just hit reply again and then paste the response back in the box.
