Bill Richardson’s exit from the Democratic primaries , at the very minimum, means another 5-7% increase for Hillary Clinton and will be the key to her getting the nomination.  He had to get out before the western states had their primaries for this to happen and being a friend of President Clinton’s, this decision comes two weeks before states that he would have made his strongest showing. Look for Richardson to be Secretary of States if Clinton wins.

Yes, he definitely has a spot in the Hillary Clinton cabinet. It’s a shame he never caught on: he was in the Joe Lieberman segment of the Democratic party. Even reduced the top tax rate in NM from 8.3 to 4.9%. We sure could have used that here in Looziana. Instead, Blanco dithered over how much of the Stelly increase she wanted to shave off after record surpluses.

Very good observations, Taxman.  Richardson was by far the most qualified candidate in the field.  Just goes to show that qualifications don’t matter as much as we like to think they do.

I think, too, with the firepower of Clinton and (in the closing months) Obama, Richardson couldn’t compete against that. Although he could have played the Hispanic card.

American voters wanted change, and so do I.

The Republican Party needs to CHANGE its leadership.

At first I thought so but then took a 2nd look at his positions. He’s basically a liberal Dem just like Hillary and Obama.

He may be labled a liberal if you look at certain positions but was the most moderate of the field before he dropped out.  As a two term governor, congressman, Energy secretary, and Ambassador to the United Nations he was by far the most ready to be president in either party’s slate of candidates.

I’ll give you that. Way more experience than either Hillary or the Golden Boy Obama.

Wait! Hasn’t Hillary been claiming to have 35 years experience?

It doesn’t really matter for the Presidency.  Many people go vote in the Presidential election, including a lot of stupid ones.

How many people go vote during the Presidential election and don’t even realize that there’s other thins on the ballot?
