NOW IS THE TIME TO FIND THOSE SENATORS WHO VOTED YES AND BOMBARD THEM WITH E-MAILS AND CALLS BETWEEN NOW AND mONDAY OR tUESDAY WHEN IT WILL PROBABLY BE VOTED ON.......guys like Crowe and Powell may be willing to change..where is the list of the Senators who voted yes

Of course a good republican Governor of Louisiana would call his hand picked Senate President and ask the session be allowed to adjourn before a vote is taken.

Perhaps you Jindalicans could convince your boy to do just that?

It is too late for Jindal to reclaim any position as a fiscal conservative.

Of course anyone paying attention could have seen that long ago. These raises, financially, are nothing compared to the money Jindal and the leges committed to spend of our money.

You are the one who is being foolish.  All Jindal had to say yesterday was the he is opposed to it and will VETO it, and that would be the end of it.

Would you, unknowing of your nemesis’s abilities, like to trade a few personal insults?

Perhaps you should just continue to ignore the facts and lob a few more childish barbs my way causing all to suspect your abilities to actually formulate proper and appropriate posts?

I can assure you that all the Senators I know understand my position on all of the Governor’s spending proposals including these pay raises. As much as you wish to ignore the facts, these pay increases are obviously part of Jindal’s, Chaisson’s and Tucker’s plan to advance the administration’s agenda. How else do you explain Jindal’s own explanation of why he will not veto the raises?

The fact is Jindal publically announced he was against the raises but would not veto it.  Thus leaving two conclusions.  There’s a back door deal remenisant of good ol’ Louisiana politics, or he was weak and spineless unwilling to stand up for his position.  Actually caving in before it was law.  You tell me what it is bottom line.  He could have been the people’s hero, a man of his word, a leader.  Instead he either cowardly backed down or is the mastermind on a backdoor political deal, Louisiana style.  The Senate vote can’t save him either way.  He should have come out against it and left it at that.  He showed his hand.  We all know where he where he stands.

If there weren’t any typical deals, Jindal should veto the bill and let the chaos begin.  I’d love to see the results; maybe it’ll be just the feuding needed to make other voters take more interest.  I don’t think there’d be that much chaos other than them overriding his veto.  That wouldn’t be Jindal’s failure; rather, it would truly be the legislature’s fault and Jindal could HONESTLY and proudly say he did all he could.

If Jindal is the governor I thought he’d be, that’s just what would happen.

If he really wants to consider the legislature independent and accountable only to their constituents, why did he bother with so many vetoes already?  Looking more like Foster every day!

You’re probably a legislature....

A “legislature”?  How about a “legislator” instead? Throughout this entire thread, bottom has continued to solidify my opinion of him.  From his ridiculous rant against IB, who was making a valid point, to his totally amateurish ability to count votes.  Anyone who thinks that there are only 20 supporters of a pay raise on the Senate floor is clearly wet-behind-the-ears when it comes to this process.
