high gas prices are a function of our weak dollar combined with upward pressures on supply from china and india.
our dollar is weak because we are defecit spending ourselves into economic stagflation.
we are defecit spending because we have a president who has made some terrible foreign policy decisions which have lead to destabilization in the part of the world where oil is most concentrated.

now lets look at your list:
anwr - drop in the bucket in terms of added supply, most of which will be natural gas
coastal drilling - last i checked florida was a pretty republican state…
alternative fuels - has nothing to do with oil, except that any investment by the government in these techonolgies was shot to pices by the bush administration, who were/are in the back pockets of the oil companies
nuclear power - this has bipartisan idiocy attached to it
coal - unless clean coal is more than a pipe dream, it is filthy,
refinery capacity - this is the oil companies fault
reduced competition - which administration approved all the oil giant mergers?
global warming “myth” - only idiots and partisans with an agenda do not believe the world is warming because of co2 emissions
speculation - i would bet many of the speculators are republicans, if i were a betting person
defeat of dumbos energy package - LOL

Tom delay said McCain is what defeated the republicans chance of drilling for oil. So why are you blaming democrats for your own choice, of who
you support for president ?
Now if you admitting John McCain is a fake republican and a real democrat, I might be able to agree with you on some of this.

ANWR could be supplying 1,000,000 barrels of oil a day.  That’s 5%.  You call that a drop?

Coastal drilling, efforts to do this have consistently been fought by the dimocrats.  Remember, Ted didn’t want rigs spoiling the view.. With the chinese drilling 50 miles off the coast of florida, now more than ever.

We have had a republican contoled Congress since 94. and they have held the exec branch since 2000. and now since Democrats have had a very slim majority since 2007 it is their fault?

Why don’t you add to the list their efforts to stop the building of new refineries?

alternative fuels has everything to do with oil - Mean… come on - oil is the whole reason for alternative fuels.
