Poor McCain is flip flopping so much on this one, his own staff is not sure about this fundraiser.

Democrats are incessantly hammering John McCain over a Texas money man, Clayton Williams, who notoriously compared rape to bad weather in an off-color quip during a 1990 campaign against Governor Ann Richards.

According to various media reports, McCain’s campaign initially cancelled the fund-raising event, scheduled for today. Then, it said it would keep the $300,000-plus that Williams had raised, saying it had come from supporters, not the oilman himself. Then, the campaign said the event had been postponed, not entirely cancelled. The latest is that the event will happen, only without Williams, who said in 1990 about rape: “As long as it’s inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it.”

At his press availability today, McCain said his staff didn’t know about that comment by Williams before scheduling the fund-raiser.

McCain’s silence on these comments, his willingness to keep the money Clayton Williams steered to his campaign, and the fact that McCain plans to go back and hold this fund-raiser when he hopes no one is watching are all part of the reason the American people are seeing through McCain’s image as a so-called ‘maverick.’ ”

Let me get this straight, DM…

You see a problem with McCain taking money from Williams because Williams made a flippant remark about rape 18 years ago.

You see no problem with Obama sitting in Wright’s pew for 20 years and Obama being a friend of an unrepentant terrorist.

Show me where I said that I have a problem with McCain taking money from this Guy, even though I think Vitter has already proved what republicans think of women.

Btw if we are changing topic from McCain to talking about the dark skinned men, how do you feel about your man Jindal and the screwing he is giving us ?

I respect the democrats because they want to see every American have the right to vote and actually have their votes counted in contrast to the conservative republicans who want only the wealthy and powerful to have that right. Looking at their most recent speeches, in PollclaSh. The republicans want the status quo and forget that we are still working to make this a more perfect union. Yes, the right-wing republicans would prefer to return to the days of slavery and when they “won” the Southwest from Mexico. The truth hurts sometimes but if what I’m writing hurts you then you must surely be a ultra right-wing republican.
