IB: I have to also say that with Palin as McCain’s VP choice that he loses the weapon of “Obama is too inexperienced”.

With a background as a mayor and a governor, she has infinately more experience than obama.  No, the “inexperience” weapon against obama just got stronger.

She has been governor for only 2 years.

Yes, that is “more” but she is still a novice.

IB: I have to also say that with Palin as McCain’s VP choice that he loses the weapon of “Obama is too inexperienced”.

The reason is because if they win, she is a heartbeat away from the presidency. And while she may have SOME experience, she doesn’t have enough to make the McCain criticisms of Obama’s inexperience stick anymore.

I am not saying it is a bad move for him to make. I just feel it makes him lose an option.

The weapon, to continue that analogy, of having a VP that everyone is trying to decide if she is more or less experienced than Obama is pretty powerful. It keeps his inexperience in the limelight and McCain never has to bring it up again. Using your logic, do you want inexperience a heart beat away from the oval office, Palin or inexperience in the oval office, Obama?

I would rather someone who has been right on the important issues of our day.

I would rather someone who is inexperienced with good ideas than someone experienced with bad ones.

And that is the bottom line, this election is going to be about ideas. The ideas McCain will bring are not what will move this country forward into the future.

Look at the issue of timetables. Obama has been calling for timetables, McCain rejects them.

The administration is FINALLY negotiating what with Iraq? TIMETABLES!

Bush is announcing withdrawal guidelines for troops because the surge worked. He did not cave and cut and run because of his drop in popularity, constant criticism from the Dems, media, etc. He stayed the course and we are WINNING. I know it is difficult for you Bush Haters, lovers of losers, etc. to admit it, but we are winning. Why would you not begin withdrawl of troops when you see we are winning? Can’t have it both ways.

The Bush administration is finally showing good sense and starting to listen to Obama. Listening to Obama about withdrawing the troops is the smartest
thing President Bush has done in his 8 years of being President.

All important to Bottomline---I read today she has an 85% approval rating two years into her term as governor.

For the first time I heard her speak on the radio today. Prior to today I had only read the Wiki article about her. She’s got such a Chicago “duh bears” accent that it even grates on me and I’m from there originally. Unelectable.

Look everybody… if Daniel was a coach of a football team, he’d put the rookie in at quarterback and bench Brett Favre.

He’d put the rookie Obama in the President and thinks it’s stupid to put the rookie in the Vice President’s seat.

Hey who came up with the “Palin is inexperienced” strategy? The Clintons?

This is actually hilarious. I’ve never seen an entire political party completely dumbfounded.

To be President, one needs one (or both) of the following:

1. Signifcant foreign policy experience - McCain, Yes; Obama, no,
Palin, no; Biden, Yes
2. Executive experiecne - McCain, no; Obama, no
Palin, Yes; Biden, no

Scorecard:
McCain/Palin - 2
Obama/Biden - 1 (note that the one point comes from Biden...)

I’m listening to many of the liberal talking heads assail Palin’s lack of experience, but they neglect to mention that the fact that she has served in an executive position automatically means she is more qualified than THE TOP OF THE DEMOCRATIC TICKET.

Mike Huckabee:
“Being a governor for any amount of time makes someone more qualified than a senator to be President.  A senator makes a bunch of speeches and sits around listening to people talk in committee hearings.  A governor makes important split-second decisions several times a day that affect the lives of millions of people.”

“I believe Senator McCain has executive experience in his service as a commander in our armed services.  He learned the skills of an executive and made split-second life and death decisions on a daily basis.”

Hannity and Colmes - Fox News, 29 Aug 2008

The experience argument wins again.
