Poor McCain .

OXFORD, Mississippi (CNN)—A national poll of people who watched the first presidential debate suggests that Barack Obama came out on top, but there was overwhelming agreement that both Obama and John McCain would be able to handle the job of president if elected.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey is not a measurement of the views of all Americans, since only people who watched the debate were questioned and the audience included more Democrats than Republicans.

Fifty-one percent of those polled thought Obama did the better job in Friday night’s debate, while 38 percent said John McCain did better.

Men were nearly evenly split between the two candidates, with 46 percent giving the win to McCain and 43 percent to Obama. But women voters tended to give Obama higher marks, with 59 percent calling him the night’s winner, while just 31 percent said McCain won.

“It can be reasonably concluded, especially after accounting for the slight Democratic bias in the survey, that we witnessed a tie in Mississippi tonight,” CNN Senior Political Researcher Alan Silverleib said. “But given the direction of the campaign over the last couple of weeks, a tie translates to a win for Obama

Fred? Are you serious? Are your predjudices that strong that you can’t see what the vast majority saw? READ MCBUSH’s record on Veterans, READ his record on workers, READ his record in general. Look past Obama’s color.  Look closely at Palin!!!! That would be worse ( if that is possible) then W

McCain did fine..... One thing I noticed was that the smooth talking Obama was missing. The long “errahhherr” pauses before each answer.  Obama can read from a script but can barely string two words together on his own.

McCain did better than fine. He demonstrated a knowledge of current and past world affairs, that obama couldn’t even approach with his cheat notes.  Obama tried to say what one of Kissingers views were.  But McCain reminded obama that “as a friend of Kissinger for 35 years, obama was wrong”..

One thing I do agree with obama on.. At least 50 times obama said “John McCain is right”.. On that senator obama, we agree.

The problem is, McCain was wrong about Kissinger.  CBS “confirmed Henry Kissinger’s position following our interview, he told us he supports talks if not with Ahmadinejad, than with high-level Iranian officials without preconditions.” Obama also said in the debate that Ahmadinejad was not the one to talk to, though he was probably hoping to hear McCain mispronounce it again.

And McCain was so wrong about the history of Musharraff in Pakistan it was not even funny.

Actually, Obama said McCain was right 8 times.  Over 90 minutes, you’d think McCain would say something right more than 8 times, but that was it.

Nope.  Don’t even think it.  Not the governor.  He has a job to do (God bless him and help keep him focused on governing and not on imposing his personal religious interpretations on the rest of us) while I’m just a moderate gadfly ... which in Louisiana they call “liberal.” --Faux Bobby Jindal
