I just voted and it took me about 45 minutes to vote. The election officials are doing a great job, just a lot of people who want to vote.

I call a few friends of mine and this is true at almost every voting precinct in the state.

My suggestion to you is do not wait to the last minute to vote and bring a good book to read while in line. Remember you must be in line to vote before 8:00 PM to be able to vote.

Oh, yea one other thing. Most precincts have limited parking if you can walk I would suggest you to walk.

This morning it was very heavy, and a 45 minute wait wouldn’t be unusual.. I’m thinking this afternoon, when people getting off go to vote, it may be the same.. I voted at 1:30, no problem.

Due to past problems Louisiana is actually ahead of most states in election efficiency. We had massive voter fraud in 1996 and we fixed many problems. Voter ID is so important as well as the fact that we share registration info with other states to verify that when you register in Texas your registration here is pulled.

I do think that Jay Dardenne is doing a pretty good job as do most of our local clerks of court.

If you are part of a society that votes, then do so. There may be no candidates and no measures you want to vote for . . but there are certain to be ones you want to vote against. In case of doubt, vote against. By this rule you will rarely go wrong. - Robert Heinlein

A co-worker of mine who just moved to Louisiana from California voted the first time in our state was shocked by how nice our voting machines are. IT IS THE FIRST TIME HE HAS COMPLEMENTED SOMETHING IN LOUISIANA OVER CAL.

BTW

Don’t forget the free coffee at Starbucks for voting.
