It’s been a wacky last two weeks as the outcome of this election has drawn near. The fact that the GOP had nothing but fear mongering to run on this year has contributed to the movement’s foot soldiers that congregate here believing all sorts of dastardly things simply because it was printed in the National Review or the World Net Daily or it was seen on Fox Noise. Facts and logic be damned.
But I know the notion of a black man with his black family living in the White House has many of you recoiling in disgust. In real life, nobody outside my family knows I am an ardent Obama supporter (actually, most still think I am a Republican!). Thus my poker games, my tailgating, and my general socializing with old friends and new acquaintences gives me deep insight into how many of the regular folk feel about Obama simply because they think they are in like company when they talk with me. So don’t deny it. Of course, feel free to deny it on here and justify it however you must in this thread, but in imploring some of you to “not deny it” I mean when you are alone thinking, like before you go to bed or when you are in the shower.
So this thread is for those of you who think that the election of a black president means the end of the world. Think for a minute before you load the .9mm. Perhaps an Obama presidency will be successful, like the Clinton presidency, and you will do well economically. Perhaps the world will again start respecting us for what we stand for, as opposed to merely because we can nuke them. Perhaps Obama’s link to his father’s heritage will inspire moderate and liberal Muslims across the Muslim world to stand up and face down radical Islamic fundamentalism in their own countries, or in the very least, convince would-be suicide bombers that America really is that shining city on a hill and not the great satain that their twisted religous leaders have convinced them of all their lives. Perhaps you may see that a black man is just as capable as any white man at running our government effectively and that your inane hate of his person simply because he is black is just that...inane.
But, shhit, who am I kidding. The world will indeed end for some of you tonight. For most of this country, tonight will vindicate what makes America the greatest political experiment in the world. For a small, but vocal minority with a disproportionate presence here, it will be a sign of the imminence of the Rapture and the end of times. While not meaning to laugh at the expense of the latter group of people, here’s to hoping none of you jump off bridges, blow your brains out, or ODs on Tylenol PM just because an intelligent man with whom you disagree with politically who by accident of birth was born black and given the middle name Hussein is elected to the highest office in the land.

VERY WELL SAID LEON...VERY WELL WRITTEN...I wonder if FRED and the rest of the far right will have the integrity and the humility to admit that they were wrong when the thing that you mention above JUST DO NOT HAPPEN. Or if some of them do, will they be as forgiving as they were with Bush? Remember Country First Leon...that is what McCain Believes in, and that is why rather than picking Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Huckeby, or even Joe Lieberman, he decided to pick Sarah Paeulin who certainly was a much more qualified and better choice than any of the other I mentioned. YES country First!

Sure, sure, sure. A CLOSET Obama supporter. I figure there’s going to be a lot of those coming on the scene. They’ll be a dime a dozen which are about how much they’re worth. The fact that you think white people are recoiling in disgust at the thought of a man of color living in the white house shows what YOU think of black people. It is not the color, it is the man. We can only hope that he is a good American, as he claims. That’s my worry, not his color. Of course this is providing he actually gets there. I am still hoping a real American hero will be elected. One that lay in a prison cell and could only THINK about his country for several years.
Well, he’s certainly black enough to not be mistaken for white, despite his white family members. He’s a nice looking clean cut black man though, who has in the past worn his pants fastened around his waist and not below his behind. Maybe he’ll influence others to follow suit. That would be something positive.
Now we’ll see if Rev. Wright “comes after him” as he promised to do. And will Farrakhan slither closer toward Washington?
I know you meant “you’re such an idiot,” but I won’t hold that against you, especially on a night like tonight.
I’ll be thinking about you and some of the others on here as I watch the results come in tonight. Remember, it’s not the end of the world, fred.
No, it is not the end of the world! The ones
who pulled off 9-11 are rejoicing. Now they
don’t have to use terrorism to destroy the
United States, they can just continue buying
it; and with all the money we have paid them
for gasoline, they now have the money, just
like they had it to give it to Obama, to the
tune of $600-Million. Don’t tell me the
people elect the president! The candidates
and their financiers purchase it. There is more
to it all than this, but this is something to think
about.
And a War Hero gets beaten by a Black who never
even served in the local National Guard, much less
in combat in Viet Nam.
Sincerely,
Hardy Parkerson, Former Chm.
