Let me know if you need more. I can come up with 76 from Waco, TX.

You think the Branch Davidians were 2nd Amendment martyrs?  You’re more of a drooling ‘tard than I thought.

Tell your “wife” she needs to wack you a few more times in the face with her dilldo and maybe you’ll get some sense knocked into you this go ‘round, dannie.

You’re really a disgusting individual Leon.

Why did the ATF go to the Branch Davidian Compound, Leon?

Lincoln. Yes he and his republican party freed the slaves… The dimocrats fought it tooth and nail, then formed the KKK.

And in 1964 all the racist dems jumped ship and joined the republican party, where they continue to ply their trade.

Like Robert KKK Byrd?

Not every racist Democrat became a Republican.  That doesn’t change the fact that the GOP ascended to relevance through a racist “Southern strategy” in the wake of the Civil Rights movement.  Hey, why take the chance trying to explain fiscal conservatism to a redneck when the GOP could just say “Democrats are ###### lovers” at get the desired result - Republican votes - faster and with less effort.  The result today is a Republican party that is 98% white, restricted to the South and midwest, dependent on fundamental Christianity as a unifying force, and unequivocally anti-intellectual.

The irony is that had they not taken the easy road back then they would still be relevant today, as opposed to being a regional party for the foreseeable future.

Johnson couldn’t have passed the civil rights without the Republicans voting it through. I guess you missed that part in history class.

I’ll ask again, do you really think the Branch Davidians are 2nd Amdendment martyrs?  If yes, how so?

You’re hung up on a fact that has never been disputed on this forum by me or anyone else.

What you can’t seem to comprehend is how much different both the Democratic and Republican Parties are today than they were in 1964.  The people who voted in those Yankee and Western Republicans that voted for Johnson’s civil rights legislation are all Democrats now voting solidly for Democrats, while the people who voted then Democrats Strom Thurmond and Jessie Helms into office through their opposition to civil rights are all Republicans now voting solidly for Republicans who preach the same white, fundamentalist Christian exclusiveness as what was heard 50 years ago.

Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms are dead.

So are the Republicans who actually voted for Lyndon Johnson’s civil rights bills.

Generally, this is true.  In this particular case it is not.  The Republican and Democratic Parties of 1964 are not the same as today.

The question I assume you’re trying to ask just above. No wait, misread it.

That’s not a question.  They are just as dead as the guys Roux is talking about.

But like I said, I think your neat tidy assumptions regarding the republicans are wrong.

What’s wrong?  That the party’s realigned after 1964?  That’s not an assumption, fred, that’s fact.
