Barack Obama supporter Bill 2008 works for a liberal politician that spent $31,600 of $70,000 on airlines.
The Shrev port mayor’s office spent most of the $70,000 it has paid for travel this year on air service, a city auditor’s report shows.
About $31,600 went to Delta, American, Northwest and Continental airlines through mid-October, according to copies of city credit card statements. Much of the remaining $38,000 or so was spent on hotels, restaurants, vehicles and fuel.
The mayor’s office has about $23,000 budgeted for travel this year, meaning it has spent more than three times that amount.
Some of the expenditures may justifiably come from other accounts, city Internal Auditor Leanis Graham said.
The report, put together per Councilman Monty Walford request, does not include personal reimbursements for the 600 pound Mayor Cedric Glover or his staff.
The city owes him about $2,000 that “probably would be more had I chosen to actually seek full reimbursement,” he said.
The credit cards cited in the report are used mainly for trips but include some charges at local restaurants.
What’s still unclear for much of the year is who was flying, sleeping, driving or eating on the city’s dollar. The mayor and his staff stopped turning in receipts for their trips in April, so money counters don’t know which funds to use.
City Hall staffers, when asked, did not give The Times copies of receipts that correspond with credit card statements. Glover said a reporter should ask specifically for travel documentation. His office is more than willing to show the public how its money is spent, down to what airplane seat someone sat in or what menu item was ordered at a restaurant.
The auditor’s report also shows:
# $22,181.84 was spent at hotels including Marriotts, Hiltons, Sheratons and Hampton Inns.
# $3,682.04 went toward vehicle rentals and gas stations.
# $2,425.90 was paid to grocers and restaurants such as Pizza Hut in Las Vegas, Chili’s and McDonald’s in Baton Rouge and Superior’s Steak House and Chianti in Shreveport.
# $7,234.33 went to conferences, including the International Council of Shopping Centers’, and some unexplained expenses.
Besides this year’s travel, about $12,000 is unaccounted for in 2007, according to the auditor’s report. Glover also disputes that.
Walford last week pushed through a proposal that would make the city’s travel policy law. It would switch trips to a per-diem system and replace car allowances with mileage reimbursements.
I didn’t defend from the start or vote for Palin or her grifter ways. I have room to complain about Glover. You can’t be credible defending her per diems for staying at home, travel with the state paying for the kids, soak-the-oil-companies socialist policies, and then take any offense at whatever Glover is up to.

I guess “Mr. Bull” forgot that Mayor Glover canceled a $400,000 per year contract the last administration had for so called “Lobbying” that had no form of accountability tied to it at all. Not one report of what we got for the taxpayer’s $400K per year investment. Glover threw this out the first few months that he was in office, and stated that “He and others could do their own lobbying for a lot less”...here you go “Bull” since you probably ain’t that good in math: $400,000 - (this means take away) $70,000 spent = (this means equals) a savings of $330,000 for Shreveport Tax payers! Good Post...thanks for bringing it up. If you want I can look up old times article on this bogus good ole boy contract from the High Tower Administration.

And didn’t Mayor Fat-Azz Glover, promise to do better than Hightower?
The mayor of Shreveport and the Governor of Alaska are entirely different. BTW Have you been to Alaska? It’s not like Shreveport or even Louisiana.
Nothing is like Louisiana.
If and when the trust is know, the airlines probably charged this fat-azz for two seat so so each of his butt-cheeks could fit.
Yeah, him and about 60 percent of the People of Louisiana have a serious weight problem… correction, perhaps 65%.
This thread is not about 60 percent of Louisiana’s people.
We are talking about an elected Fat-Azz that is mayor of Shrev Port.
He a Fat-Azz that need two airlines seats and all the fried chicken he
can put down with a shovel.

You are so funny ...now I know why you named yourself “Bull”....you sure can dish it out! Good post! Makes me laugh!

Well he has not built any “Convention Centers” that we can not afford, nor built parking lots and called them Parks, so I guess he is doing a little better in those areas. I really have not analyzed the statistics between the two lately, guess I need to get busy and do that.

That Fat-Azz colored boy ain’t done nothing but buy double-wide airline seats, fried chicken and
and use up a case of toilet tissue a day. And probably has you to wiping him when your not dispatching buses. And now he can’t account for the taxpayer’s money, he has stolen.
Since part of that money is federal, maybe the justice department should look into it.
