"Currently, Obama’s two daughters (ages 7 and 10) attend the University of Chicago Lab School, where tuition is $18,492 for grades 1-4 and $20,286 for grades 5-8. When Michelle Obama visited Washington this week, she toured only two prospective schools for her daughters: Sidwell Friends, where lower-school tuition is $28,442; and Georgetown Day, where tuition is $27,445 for grades 1-5.” --columnist Terence Jeffrey
Note - Mebelle did not soil herself by visiting a public school
Yet O has promised the NEA to spend $18 billion more on on public education to pay them off for their vote. Wonder if he will trust his own precoius children to the NEA or shelter them in a plush private academy - just like the first “black” president, Bill Clinton.
What a bunch of liberal hypocrits!

Gee, have you ever checked to see where the kids of Senators, Congress men and women, and state Representatives go to school? You may want to do some of your own homework before you delve into this one.
Now charlie, critisizing the One makes you a racist!!!
Careful FRED, AVman does not like BOLD type, or the use of colored print...I mean...he started an entire forum thread on it...do you want him to start one that is All Bold Type for you, FRED?

No, my point is that all of the Dems and libs are held hostage to the NEA for their support, but, as you say, refuse to send their kids to public schools. The only difference, for instance as it relates to the President and Congress is that, although the R’s also send their kids to private schools, they support vouchers to permit everybody to enjoy the same benefit, whereas the Dems and liberals refuse to support vouchers, thus making the poor prisoners of the failed public school system while they are exempt themselves from that prison. That is the hypocrisy.

I don’t mind a little bit, sort of like all caps, it’s good to make a point… however, excessive use of the bold, large type, or crayon style posting becomes annoying.

I agree with you on this issue, I disagree with the democratic stand, and I personally believe that the Teacher Unions are not in the best interest of our children’s educations, and that they are only in the best interest of themselves. They are by far the largest special interest group in our Nation. They crossed the line when they partnered against Walmart , which has nothing to do with public education. I can not believe that there was not more done about this.
I do not believe that Vouchers are the total answer, I do believe that they can help in some situations. I believe that there are ways to make public education, but big changes in many different areas are required and I doubt seriously the unions will allow that as long as they are so powerful.
