New Senate Candidate?
Rumors continue to fly about a possible candidacy by former Governor Buddy Roemer for the US Senate. Roemer could announce as late as the last day of qualifying - August 6th - which just happens to be the eve of the Louisiana Republican Convention. If he does, it would instantly change the dynamics of the state GOP convention.

Damn, these people will do anything to get attention.

More like desperation by Roemer for more attention. The only people giving life to these rumors are the Roemerites. They have yet to realize that the people were exposed to the Roemer Revolution, and choose a Klansman and a crook. That has to hurt.

Wrong the people giving this fire are Rhett and all the crazies at the party. Notice the not too slight attempt to say their State “All we’re trying to do is keep the electricity bills paid” Convention will actually matter. Yeah Right, Besides we know that this site and its’ “editorial content” is controlled by all of Rhett’s Clan.

You guys didn’t fool this one. Roemer ain’t running and nobody is going to your lame convention.

Wow, you really give Rhett Davis more credit then he deserves. Oh and by the way, there will be several hundred people at that convention including many of our elected officials. I am glad that YOU won’t be there. I don’t think you lousy attitude is needed.

The elected officials are either being comped or squeexed for money, depending on whether they’re a candidate this fall. The Amway crowd that is showing up has to pay. ‘Nuff said.

Ask ‘em how they tried to squeeze Jock Scott, and how he told ‘em to take flying leap. This non-event gets one or two mentions on page A-14 of the Saturday and Sunday papers at best, and that’s it. I doubt they’ll be TV from anywhere outside of Lafayette.

I didn’t like Brister much either, but at least she kept the bills paid. When this crowd proves they can win elections, I’ll shut up.

No trust me, it was Brister. Because of her, Boysie and Foster just wrote the checks. They’re not writing them now, are they?

I will be at the convention and AI am not an elected official. there are already 500 people signed upi and Michael Reagan and Bill Owens are speaking. I think that is preety good. I mean Bill Owens is a likely candidate for President in 08. Plus the LYRF is piggybacking their convention on this and they are going to have something good too!

No, trust me, it was Foster & Boysie. They would take anybody they could to keep Republicans quiet while they were doing what ever they wanted. Foster raised taxes, expanded gambling, brought state spending to a new level. All the while Brister and her gang stayed dutifully quiet. and Boysie still has his government contracts. That what it was all about. Brister would do as well as anybody else who would just shut up and stay home and avoid as many meetings as possible.

How many conventioneers will it take to break even? Is it a fixed number, or do the consultants get paid per head? Inquiring minds want to know....
