[QUOTE=Unregistered]500 WHOLE people? The Cajundome’s gonna look awfully empty with just 500 people in it. How many of those are paying customers?

Hey that is two hundred more than showed up for the stampede last year.....

The difference being that the Stampede was a sitdown dinner held at a smaller venue, and everybody paid.

You’re throwing a party, and no one is coming.

George,

Everyone has paid for the convention. And the stampede was not just a sitdown dinner. It included two days of activities and people were let in free. Get it over it man....

It’s not Christian to lie. I’ll ask again. How much did you guys try to shake out of Jock Scott and Bobby Jindal, among others?

And McCreary gave $$ to Victory 2004, NOT the Lagop. Another lie. That’s the ONE thing you can count on from the Villere crowd.

Will the party release their finances on this event, so we can know how much money they made off the shills?

Did Jock Scott and Bobby Jindal ever give you people money?

As a rank and file life long Republican I am so sick of this war with ourselves.

How in the hell are we ever going to offer this state a real alternative if we fight each other more than the Democrats?

Let’s give the new guys a chance. Let’s see how the Lafayette Convention goes before we start writing them off.

Is fundraising REALLY the problem some of these posters say it is?

This is all such BS. I hope everyone can see that. I do not work for the LAGOP, but am close to those who do. Here’s the truth:

1. Both McCrery and Jindal have given substantial amounts of money to the LAGOP. This will be available on the state ethics website at the end of the month.

2. There are over 1000 PAID people signed up for the convention.

3. It’s normal for a state party to ask for money from candidates for a convention. Afterall, the convention is designed to help the candidates. Only in La. would candidates think this strange. No candidate is being denied entry if they do not pay.

It’s amazing to me the hate that is directed to the “conservative” crowd from the “moderates.” Like them or not, the current leadership is at least doing SOMETHING. That’s more than can be said of the previous administration who spent 4 years sitting on their hands. I don’t see the conservatives “waging war” on anyone, but they sure are being unjustly attacked. I guess some people just don’t handle losing very well.

Thanks for clearing that up! I was beginning to get worried! Good luck in Lafayette!

Now the party has concocted an event to suck Republican Women into their “Cajundome Crash”. Pretty funny, especially when you consider that the last time they ran things, they shut the LFRW out completely!

From the LFRW e-mail (WITH EDITORIAL EMBELLISHMENT):

Today, you also received the communication about the LFRW Luncheon on Friday at the Lafayette Hilton ($20) when our own NAME OMITTED will be honored with a lifetime achievement award! (I AGREE THIS LADY DESERVES AN AWARD, ALONG WITH ABOUT 200 OTHER LONG-TIME LFRW MEMBERS. HER LAST BIG EFFORT WAS DURING THE 1988 CONVENTION.)

The State Party has taken the lead on this event. (HELP, WE’RE IN DEEP DOODOO!) They approached THE CURRENT LFRW CHAIRWOMAN with the idea of a luncheon honoring the Federation and one of our outstanding members. (ANYTHING TO SCROUNGE A BUCK AT THIS POINT) This is a good faith gesture and a sincere acknowledgement of our organization (HA!), our contributions to the State Party efforts, (IN SPITE OF THE WAY THE CURRENT LEADERSHIP REALLY FEELS ABOUT US) and our continuing hard work for all things Republican. Let’s please accept this in the spirit it is intended...(THESE GUYS REALLY DO NEED US TO BAIL THEM OUT AGAIN, GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!)

PLEASE COME TO OUR FUNDRAISER - WE HAVE A LOT OF CONSULTANTS TO PAY!

It would be just too damn easy to say something like “Actually, I gave it to yo mama!”, but I’ll instead say that I contributed to deserving, ELECTABLE Republican candidates!

What you can’t accept is the fact that the current leadership means what it says and is determined to mend fences and get on with the work of re-electing President Bush, FINALLY electing a Republican U.S. Senator, not to mention building a statewide grassroots organization that will change the face of Republican politics in LA.
