Why has the US been so successful as a nation?

Has it been people, resources, opportunity, philosophy, govt., Luck!?!

Love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

The natural geography and resources of this beautiful nation, along with the classicaly educated leaders that “peopled” this nation that had the education, wisdom and sense of history to fashion our megnificent constitution. It has been methodically eroded since its adoption. Our society, IMHO - our US civilization will last another 50 years or so , and then we will be relegated to a second rate economic society - perhaps second to the Euro, China, or maybe the Indo-China group - who knows? But, IMHO, our civilization is definitely declining - we are becoming a “dependent” society with more paying no taxes and asking more of their government than the productive taxpayers can provide them. Soon, the dependents and their government will demand more in taxes, fees, licenses, regulations, etc. than the productive element can supply - can you spell “outsourcing”,"offshore", etc.?
